So. Crosswords

#1 Post by Beebs52 » Sun Apr 19, 2020 1:27 pm

We've been doing crosswords jointly, (huh huh I said jointly), forever. Ranger Jeff calls out whatever the clue is, I respond, rightly or wrongly. He knows some quite esoteric answers but can't spell worth shit.
We combine our resources as it were.

Anyway, Dot was lying next to us on the patio, dreaming, semi running in her sleep, and for several answers that we agreed upon her tail would plop, followed by a totally rank dog fart.

China's___ Xiaoping
Deng.
Plop, silent killer fart

A Little Night Music's Star
Glynnis Johns
Two plops, silent killer fart

I would never lie.
Well, then

I hope the Houston Astros don't get wind of this...it could be a new way to let their hitters know what pitches are coming.

Keep a close eye on Dot...

I hope they didn't get wind of it too, they have enough problems without dog farts.

Miss Mary has been letting go of the most deadly silent farts lately. I thought to call the vet, but she is coming up on 17, and at some point, we just don't process food as efficiently.

Or maybe it is MORE efficient, to convert it to gas.

We need to attach some sort of collection device, to harness this power source.

I friend got me hooked on a phone app call Kryss. It's a cross-word type game, but you play against a competitor. The word clues are sometimes a bit Euro-centric, which makes it a bit interesting, at times. One of my faves: "can't be arsed"

your story about Dot brought to mind the famous George Carlin sketch about blaming his farts on the dog.

That's not even one of my farts!

One night I thought Dot had taken a dump in our bedroom, the miasma of rankness was so palpable and enveloping.

Trying to remember what movie had scenes showing an elderly man (I think) farting loudly and the family dog suddenly awakening, jumping up, and getting the hell out of the room as quickly as possible. Pretty funny.

Any of y'all Mr. and Miss Know-it-alls remember this?

Roomie says it is "10," and it was the older lady housekeeper. I would have guessed a Pink Panther movie or "Airplane."

All I know about that movie is that it included Bo Derek.

Skoop, it's funny that you thought of the Pink Panther movies. Also Blake Edwards, of course. Here's the scene from "10." Took about a minute and a half to set it up. Not unlike a lot of the humor in PP films.
