By "coincidence". Not having the benefit of this "coincidence", and having never heard of Beanie Feldstein, I'd need a lifeline.

I'd never heard of this, but I had the right hunch, connecting "chiffon" with a light fabric, therefore cut into strips? Crushing in a pestle is the essential step of making pesto, and if that was chiffonade I presume I'd have heard the term. In cooking, I've heard of lemon chiffon pie, certainly A & C couldn't be processes connected to that.
