a bit of excitement

So I've been working from home and it's frankly been a bit boring. Until yesterday afternoon. Working in my family room I heard lots of police sirens, and shortly afterward what sounded like fireworks. I walked outside to see half a dozen police cars just up the street (5 doors away). There were police officers with assault rifles and ballistic vests. Here's a link to the story.

The photo was taken at the end of our street.

Excitement can be overrated

On an unrelated note - just how long is the "Dixie Highway?" I know I drove on it when visiting my f-i-l near Cincinatti.

They weren't practicing social distancing in that picture.

I don't know what the relationship was between the pregnant woman and the man who attacked her (although I might venture a guess), but, more generally, I have a feeling we're going to see a lot more domestic violence incidents in the next few weeks because a lot of people are suffering from "cabin fever" and anxiety over the virus, which could translate into more short fuses and violent incidents.

Dixie Highway in Louisville is only a few miles long.
