This Is Scary

#1 Post by silverscreenselect » Wed Mar 18, 2020 6:41 am

Mrs. SSS and I had tickets to see a production of Porgy and Bess from the Atlanta Opera Company last weekend. The operative word here is 'had" since the performance was canceled. However, what's scary is the fact that the last show they put on, which was last Tuesday night, was attended by a Marietta city councilwoman (Marietta is an Atlanta suburb). She woke up Wednesday with a cough and fever and was diagnosed the next day with the coronavirus. (She did not attend a scheduled council meeting that day.) She's now in self-quarantine.

What's scary is that the arena where this was playing has a capacity of 2750 people, and I'm sure there were hundreds of people there for the Tuesday night show, a number of whom came in close proximity to her. and were in a crowded arena with her for two to three hours. Hopefully, everyone around her will be safe, but I'm sure there are some nervous people out there today since she came forward with her story.
