If you have known me for a bit, you know I work for a multinational company that has locations all around the world. No employee is allowed to travel from/to China at this time. Very limited travel with approvals needed to most Asian countries.

If you have been to an Asian country within the last 14 days, you are to stay home and self monitor your health. They attached the things to look for. If you can't work from home, you need to report to our company Dr and they can discuss options. I suspect that would include the possibility of time off with pay.

They have put out a PSA of our own to discuss handwashing and other precautions. We have had a long standing campaign to have kids wash their hands with Lifebuoy soap mostly targeted to India. The goal was to get children to their 5th birthday. It has saved many children's lives. But this recent communication across the Asian continent, specifically recommends competitive brands who have germ fighting capabilities.

Sort of proud that they are putting people first instead of profits for a bit.

Studies have shown that antibacterial soap does just a marginally better job of bacteria killing than regular soap. I have no data on coronaviruses.

It depends on what is in the soap. Some are better than others.

And no offense, but we know quite a bit about this. The head of that brand stood in front of us and was close to tears when he reported some of the studies that were done. Obviously, I can't share any of that information.

The campaign I mentioned also involved setting up a hand washing station. Many of the people we were trying to help had to walk miles to get somewhat potable water. So with water scarce, washing their hands often took a back seat to drinking and cooking water.

The information that has been shared to us not in that brand, is very powerful.

But believe whatever you want to from some interweb source.
