He's got a career ahead of him in commercial endorsements. Just dress him up in costume and he can shill for Burger King. "I'd give up my throne for a whopper."

I've seen at least one article stating that by voting with their feet, the couple have made a loud, clear statement about racism in the U.K. --Bob

Ok. Since you kind of asked for it I'll do it.

They have made a statement but the couple has made one.

I must apologize to those in this thread. I said "kerfluffle" when I should have said "kerfuffle".
Oh please.

Just to be clear. The holiday they had in Canada, was here in my little neck of the woods. Their residence is about 1/2 mile up the road from my late parents' old farm house, and I used to hike there.

Saw Harry shopping in town before Christmas. He was rather badly disguised, but we all just pretended to not notice him. We are hoping they will keep that house, and continue on here.

Independence from the British royal family? To be fair, that has worked out well for my people.
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

My parents actually lived in a country when it became independent from Great Britain and could relate.

Is Meghan The Miserable Wife of Windsor? :P

She's hoping she'll get to play herself in another three or four seasons on The Crown.

Looks like a solution is in the works:

Queen agrees 'transition' to new role for Harry and Meghan

OTOH not all Canadians are as welcoming as Saucy:

Harry and Meghan, and why members of the Royal Family can’t live in Canada
