The league, down to six teams (four within 100 miles of each other; all of them within one time zone) has filed Chapter 7 bankruptcy after ceasing operations about a month ago.
I've enjoyed it over the years, but the product once it shrank to four teams three years ago didn't look as good as it used to. Also, there were a lot of empty seats in the stands that were obviously an issue.

Re: RIP Arena Football League
Here's something I don't understand.
This thread was started by Spiff just before midnight last night (Eastern time). It's now just before 7:00 eastern. My comment is the second comment in this thread, but it shows 117 views already. Earlier posts like the Ruckelshaus RIP and my movie post show under 20 views apiece.
Are there really that many people interested in the demise of the Arena Football league to check out this thread in the wee small hours of the night on Thanksgiving?
