Here's the whistleblower's complaint. It clearly spells out exactly how Donny tried to use U.S. foreign policy to pressure a foreign government to create political dirt against a domestic political opponent.

And remember, one of the tools Donny used was holding up hundreds of millions of dollars of foreign aid. Which Congress had already appropriated to help the Ukraine resist Russia's expansionist efforts.

The White House's reconstruction of the phone call bears out the whistleblower's complaint in full. You gotta wonder what's in the full transcript that was so much worse than this that they decided to hide it under the pretext of national security.

So with all the subtlety of a Mafia don, Donny put his own personal interests ahead of the interest of U.S. foreign policy in resisting Russia's efforts to swallow parts of the Ukraine.

And the primary Republican response to these disclosures has been they're upset with Donny, not for doing these things, but because he didn't cover them up well enough. Which is why the Republican Party deserves to take its place next to the Whig Party in the graveyard of American politics. --Bob

Fulla Schiff, as well as all the other impeachers, may not be insane, but they have no ability for introspection or the ability to project unintended consequences of their actions.

They accuse the president of having the motive of personal political gain, using hearsay and opinion as factual evidence, ignoring ANY other possible motives, which are numerous and more likely. But they cannot even imagine that anyone else would see their own actions as completely political, self-serving and in themselves corrupt and unconstitutional. No one on their side has even brought that up and examined it. No introspection. They are only interested in spouting platitudes over and over for hours on end in hopes it makes them look like saviors of our democracy (even thought we are not a democracy).

The FACT that the president was impeached with only votes from one party, along with the FACT that many members of that party have been talking about impeachment since the day he was elected (including an admission from the Speaker that this was indeed the case), is prima facie evidence that this was in fact a political impeachment. That establishes a precedent that if the majority party of the House really does not like the current president, they, too, can invent reasons for that president to be impeached.

The bored leftists, with all their batphone justifications, and hypocritical accusations, have the same issues I have explained above. I think it must be a malady of being a leftist.
