Damn, I might have voted for her if hell froze over between now and election day. It could happen.

Cory Booker didn't make the cut for tomorrow's debate, so he's calling it quits.

Former MD Congressman John Delaney pulled the plug on his Presidential campaign. Delaney was the first Democrat to announce he was running back in 2017. Understatement of the year:
It's clear to me on Monday, on caucus night, I will not have sufficient support to get to the 15% viability threshold ... that is needed to get delegates out of Iowa

After giving it the old college try, the democrats latest gallant attempt to remove the duly elected President from office without charging him with any crime, except ones they made up, is now toast. As they are now saying, 'without any evidence', we are now a monarchy. Hail King Donald, first of his name. Protector of the realm. Flunkie of Russia. Father of Grand Dragons. The Wall Builder. Ruler of the 7 Emoluments.
The king thing probably won't stick, though. Except for those already 'in the tank'. It's just a holdover for the next 'corrupt scheme' they have in the queue.
Anyone want to speculate what's the next egg in the nest?

I don't think any Democrats support Joe Walsh's policies or almost all of Mitt Romney's or Justin Amash's. But these people and a few other Republicans have not been blinded to Trump's basic dishonesty and disgusting behavior as a human being.

There was a time when the Republican party had morals and ethics. Go back and read Margaret Chase Smith's speech about Joe McCarthy. Contrast that with Susan Collins' ridiculous defense that Trump has "learned his lesson." Trump has learned a lesson. He's learned that no matter what he does, Susan Collins and Mitch McConnell and Lindsay Graham and the rest of them will fall in line. I'm pretty sure this last stunt will cost Susan Collins her job. I'm just wondering how many of the rest of them will pay the price for rubber stamping Trump.

Trump has the balls to fight back at the dems using their own tactics. Look at the dem party's morals and ethics before you cast any stones. And they have been at it for decades.

Awww. C'mon Tom. You can buy the presidency just as well as Mikey. Keep spending your money that you got from exploiting the poor. Oh, he's a democrat. He got his money only through the most noble purposes, not like those other evil billionaires.

Pete's out:

I think that Warren and Klobuchar are staying in through Tuesday because the Massachusetts and Minnesota primaries are Tuesday. If they drop out, they hand those states to Bernie, while if they stay in they'll pretty much split the delegates with him. I'm expecting some announcements on Wednesday and possibly someone cutting a VP deal with Biden.

Without having read any of the stories to see what his statement was, I'm intrigued that Mayor Pete withdrew two days before Super Tuesday.

If he knows he has no shot (because his lane is the same as Biden's), fine, then go on and get out and encourage your voters to go to one person in particular. Same with Steyer - I am wondering if he is encouraging his voters to go to anyone specific (and if he will be supporting any of them financially before there is a nominee).

Possibly all of this has been answered, and I just haven't had time to read the many stories we generated tonight. I had issues with one paper's sports pages in particular, and am just now catching my breath. As long as they are overbooking their papers, I feel like I have some job security.

Speaking of people who have no shot, does Bloomberg still seriously believe that he can buy the nomination after parachuting into the race only three months ago and completely shunning the first four contests? Or it more about trying to buy a few delegates so that he can have a platform at the convention?

While Buttigieg did not overtly state who he wants people to support, he was pretty clear in his message that he still wants to make sure that there are no "down ticket" impacts now that he will not be the nominee. In other words, Biden not Bernie.

It is surprising when the person in 3rd place bows out before those in a more distant 4th, 5th, or 6th. No idea why Elizabeth Warren still is in the race, let alone Amy Klobuchar. (Altjhough of the remaining also-rans, it seems like Sen. Klobuchar is the one who is not still running as a vanity exercise.)

If I was to guess, I think that Buttigieg may have dropped out as a strategic move to again beat Sen. Klobuchar to the punch. They are the best (only) candidates to reach out to the states where Trump won the last election, via-a-vis "blue collar, midwestern values states", so Buttigieg makes for an interesting Veep candidate. Of course, Bernie is the one who most needs that help, and I am not sure that either Buttigieg or Klobuchar can be Veep with so many debate soundbites available.

As I noted earlier, in Klobuchar's case, it's probably due to the Minnesota primary Tuesday. She stands to get a possible majority of the delegates there, many of which would go to Sanders if she dropped out. Warren faces the same situation in Massachusetts, but, in her case, there's a very, very, very, slim possibility she might emerge as the "liberal" alternative to Sanders and siphon some votes away from him.

Nobody really knows at this point if Bloomberg will score significantly tomorrow or not. Tom Steyer spent a ton of money in South Carolina and wound up with two delegates. A similar showing by Bloomberg tomorrow and he pull out.

The latest analysis by FiveThirtyEight (after the Buttigieg dropout) shows a 65% chance of no one having a majority of pledged delegates at the convention, Sanders with 20% (down from the mid 40s a week ago), Sanders at 20% and Biden at 15%. As far as having a plurality of delegates is concerned, Sanders has a 57-41 % chance against Biden in that regard.

Really, has no one in the bubble figured out that maybe the DNC made Pete a deal to help Joe? Their not gonna offer Warren a deal, and Amy is not a factor. But they really don't want Bernie to get it.

I can't see anyone in their right mind voting for Joe. Half the time, he doesn't know where or even who he is unless he is reading from a teleprompter, and even then he gets things wrong. He is way too old, bless his heart, and he should have bowed out long ago, but for the number of people with TDS willing to vote for a person suffering from senility (sorry, but it looks like it) over the guy who's doing the job.
