Allowing Michael Bennet would eliminate Dianne Feinstein as well as Gary Hart. That's hard to believe. Awaiting clarification from Frank.

I retroactively updated the last consolidation to include your matches.

The Bennett match was one where I couldn't come up with an immediately famous name for that.

One of the people is listed on the consolidation. When that is corrected, you will have another match.

Somehow, I neglected to type the last part of that first sentence. See if this is any clearer:

One of the people is listed on the consolidation with the wrong last name. When that is corrected, you will have another match.

Underwood rated a mention in Profiles in Coverage for being a southern Democrat who spoke out against the KKK at a time when they were a political force in Democratic politics. Some think this may have cost him a shot at the Presidency.

NORMAN MAILER

Saw literary feud and Norman Mailer, and didn't give it a second thought.

This is MARY MCCARTHY, who made scathing comments about Lillian Hellmann on Dick Cavett's show.

There's even a play about it. Hmmm.

That means 13. JOSEPH Hooker + 69. Mary MCCARTHY = Joseph McCarthy of Wisconsin

I double checked when I saw the Mailer answer, and the Mailer/Vidal kerfuffle didn't result in a lawsuit.

But is Senator Michael Bennet? :)

I think that's one of our points of difficulty right now. Mr. Bennet doesn't have a first name, so Bennet must be in the puzzle somewhere. Is it supposed to be a double-T Bennett, because that would at least give us a couple more choices for senators?
