A few other GOP members of Congress have criticized Trump's tweet.
What balls?

Toomey isn't up for re-election until 2022.

The poll that Trump cites was an anonymous poll leaked to Axios of 1,000 "likely general-election voters who are white and have two years or less of college education." This group already tends to skew substantially Republican (+25% in a recent Gallup poll) and has a dim view of Democrats in general. The findings about AOC are generally in line with their opinions about Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic party in general. Despite their feelings, the Democrats picked up 40 seats in the last election.

Trump this afternoon, about Rep. Omar: “There's a lot of talk about the fact that she was married to her brother. I know nothing about it ... I don't know but I'm sure that somebody would be looking at that.” (Needless to say, incest is prohibited in Islam.)

The crowd at his MAGA rally tonight: “Send her back!”

Like I said, he doesn’t bother to hide it anymore.

Unproven? You mean like Russian collusion unproven? Like obstruction of justice unproven? Wow. She should be sent back then.

This time I'm going to beat the right wingers to the punch and note that this article is three years old (before the presidential election). If Duke was happy then, he's probably ecstatic now. But I'm sure that he or some other white supremacist is on record much more recently espousing his support of and identification with Trump.

Seek and ye shall find, all from an article in CNN this week:
Andrew Anglin Daily Stormer wrote:Man, President Trump's Twitter account has been pure fire lately. This might be the funniest thing he's ever tweeted. This is the kind of WHITE NATIONALISM we elected him for. And we're obviously seeing it only because there's another election coming up. But I'll tell you, even knowing that, it still feels so good.
Richard Spencer wrote:With a single tweet, Trump was able to win back the sizeable deluded portion of the Alt-Right, eager to take another trip on the merry-go-round.
8chan commenter wrote:[It would be a big step forward to normalize an idea that] it is ok for him not to want to be swamped by brown scum that clearly despise him, that these invaders have stepped well out of line making demands of us, and that if they don't like the way we run things they can go the hell back.TThese are the ideological seeds from which actual revolutions begin. When someone with perceived authority like Trump comes along and says them, it carries weight with many people. The jewish media is right to be terrified of these ideas becoming normalized.

Washington Post wrote:President Trump said Thursday that he disagreed with a chant at his campaign rally of “Send her back!” directed at a Somali-born lawmaker whom he targeted in recent days with almost identical language.

His comments in the Oval Office came after House Republicans questioned Vice President Pence about the episode in a private meeting and asked Trump to distance himself from the racially charged rhetoric.

“I wasn’t happy with that message that they gave last night,” Trump said of the crowd at his rally in Greenville, N.C., Wednesday night. “I was not happy when I heard that chant.”

Pressed by a reporter why he did not try to stop the chant directed at Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.), Trump said he thought he had done so by starting to speak again “very quickly.”

“I started very quickly, and I think you know that,” he said.

In fact, the president did not start speaking immediately but paused for about 13 seconds as the chants were heard.
So Trump still cares about GOP criticism of his racism, even though his reaction is to lie about it.

David Duke is wrong about many many things. Probably wrong about more things than he is right.

This is one of those things he is wrong about.

David Duke may like some of the thins Trump is doing. Who with a brain and a heart for this country wouldn't? But its a one way thing. Trump (nor the overwhelming majority of his supporters) do not agree with most, if anything, Duke says or stands for.

Trump's, and for that matter most of the rest of the country's, disdain for the individuals in the Squad have nothing to do with their race. And Trump is just as nasty to the white women and white men he opposes and thinks (rightly so) are fools.

Bob J's article tied David Duke to Trump. I criticized it for being somewhat outdated and easily found three similar people equally ecstatic about Trump this week.

Exactly.

You've covered a lot in a few words very effectively for those who still have ears to hear.

I'm old enough to remember the Greensboro lunch counter sit-ins. When I was hired by Lincoln Financial Group I wasn't looking forward to moving there. I was ecstatic when I found I could move to Tucson.

I make such comments when morons like you make broad-brush statements attributing views to me (or all Republicans) which simply are not true. In this case, I agree with BiT's statement, so I have no direct, personal knowledge that his statement is untrue. Thus, I withheld comment. Perhaps you should try withholding comment when you don't know what you're talking about.
