Oh all right, enough lurking.

Auditioned in Naperville June 13, never got an email, got The Call June 23, taped July 7, air date TBA.

If themanwho is reading this: Hi, it's Paul! Sorry we didn't have more time to chat.

Yes. I had also gotten one when I auditioned at Arlington Park 3 years ago and got the postcard a week later, so it didn't alter my expectations this time. Funny, I had also taped a promotion 3 years ago (which I'm guessing didn't get used since I wasn't picked), and then the same guy chose me to tape a promotion on set!

Where did you stay? The hotel options appear...unappealing. We might just Airbnb it.

We stayed at the Hampton. Nice room, quiet, "nature walk" across the street, walking distance to stores and restaurants, 5 minutes drive to the studio.

We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express - nice, comfortable room; decent full breakfast; a free shuttle which picked us up at the train station and took us to the studio the next morning.

Thank God! I was so scared that I'd blown your cover by outing you as a Jeopardy champion to the gal who did my interview.

I'm looking forward to seeing you on the show. And I would have liked to chat too, but I had a 10 hour drive ahead of me, so I had to run.

Retroactive good luck.

That's our second choice I think next to the Hampton. I'm just cheap and am used to being able to Priceline a decent hotel for like $60.

I think you interviewed with Mandy, who ended up being my producer for the taping.

I think we paid $109 a night, but it may have been more. Good free breakfast here as well.

I attended a taping today and took the test. While we were standing in line to enter the studio, my name was called along with four others. I thought we were the passers, but it turns out that we were chosen to either answer the $1,000.00 question OR participate in Fastest Feet. I was there for three tapings and there was only time for one $1,000.00 question, no Fastest Feet. The guy who was chosen to answer the question turned out to be the brother of a contestant who hadn't yet taped his episode. It was a question regarding Russell Crowe. I knew the answer before the choices were even shown. For the first time ever, I did not pass the test. I am especially disappointed as they seemed to like my enthusiasm. I will try again.

Milla Date? Are there going to be two contestants dating as they answer questions?

Since I'm in this thread, I'll note that I've convinced my friend R to try out in Philly on October 9th.

And will they be naked?

If they're going to have a Decades week again, they'd better start auditioning soon. I went to a Decades audition last year, and finding the right contestants wasn't easy.

Tap, tap, tap
Suitguy is not bitter.

feels he represents the many educated and rational onlookers who believe that the hysterical denouncement of lay scepticism is both unwarranted and counter-productive

The problem, then, is that such calls do not address an opposition audience so much as they signal virtue. They talk past those who need convincing. They ignore actual facts and counterargument. And they are irreparably smug.

I attended a taping and auditioned last Sunday, August 31st - I passed the written test, as I did the four previous times I took it (spread out over several years, but including last year) but, for the first time, I went on to the video interview and I got the happy e-mail on September 3rd. :D So, fifth time is the charm! Now I await the call... Good thing I know how to meditate now, otherwise I'd be a wreck waiting...oh who am I kidding, it's still nerve-wracking.

PS: I like Terry as a host.

Thanks! I've been lurking on and off here for years, and did add an attempt or two to previous audition list(s) back on the old version of the board.

After looking at popartist's report I will assume that I will not hear anything from the Raleigh audition. :(
