Puzzle

#1 Post by Appa23 » Wed Feb 27, 2008 9:32 pm

Do not linger over the question, but give your first immediate thought.
Spoiler
A woman, while at the funeral of her own mother, met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing. She believed him to be her dream guy so much, that she fell in love with him right there, but forgot to ask for his number. Later, she could not find him.

A few days later, her sister died.

Why?

I'm not sure why this is a puzzle. Isn't it more of a logical thinking thing?
Spoiler
She killed her sister hoping that the guy would show up at another family funeral.

Spoiler
I had no clue, so i Googled. The version I found there said that the woman killed her sister. I still didn't figure it out, but I think that makes it much easier to get.

Spoiler
In actuality, this is a debunked "psychology" test that apparently is remaking its way through e-mail.

The premise is that if you immediately jumped to the conclusion that the woman would kill her sister in hopes of meeting the man again, then you are a psychopath (as were the "convicted murderers and serial killers" who came to the same conclusion when given the test.) Sorry Fantine, the cat is out of the bag.

I've seen this before. They say if you get the right answer you're psychopathic.

Well, that's just silly. Unless you go from the stance that there's nothing saying psychopaths can't be as logical as the next guy. Or it's the serial killer better known as Occam's Razor.

Spoiler
I'll say that the sister died from the same cause as the mother. That seems most likely. Car crash, infectious illness, fire, war, something like that.
No matter where you go, there you are.
