New Mouse

Getting a new mouse for your computer may not necessarily be a big deal to most people. But when you use that mouse to create pretty pictures for the enjoyment of yourself and others, it's a different story....

The mouse on my desktop was starting to double click every so often, which was a pain in the butt if I was trying to go back one page and got sent back two instead, or there was something clickable under a dropdown menu. It was the original mouse I bought for this computer, so it was 2 and a half years old and figured I may as well replace it. Well, yesterday I got the same mouse I got the first time (The cheap one, of course). While the design was slightly different, the mouse moved WAY too fast across the screen. It reminded me of when my old roller ball mouse quit on me 3 years ago when I was doing the portraits and Mecca had just quit carrying those in favor of the optical and laser mice. It took me a week to get used to the quicker mouse then.... and I was only coloring pics by hand then. Now that I'm drawing them as well via the mouse, it would probably take even longer....

Screw that.... I yanked out the new mouse this morning and replaced it with the one I use for my laptop, which was bought at the same time as the old one. It's still a bit different in feel and results from the original, which showed in the generally poorer quality pics I'd draw using the laptop, but it'll be much easier to adjust to, and as you can see from today's entry I just whipped up, I think I can live with the results....

But if this mouse ever goes, ES may have to begin venturing into abstract art.....

in Windows, Device Manger lets you adjust the pointer and double click speed.

I'm too computer illiterate for something like that. Maybe I'll try to figure that out when it becomes necessary....

Maybe, if I wouldn't have to borrow Suffocating Mini to use you.......
