B4 Team-The List (and recommitment)

Week 237 (I think, as I don't have a notebook).

B4 Team stands for: Better Bodies for Bored Buddies (term coined by Barbarella).

The focus of the team isn't the outside appearance, though that would be handy, but rather doing long term lifestyle changes that can make your bodies more healthy long term. For yourself and for the people who love and care about you. And to support each other and give each other guidance with people's particular things that hurt their health.

There's studies that say that people who work together on their health and fitness goals are more likely to stick with it long term. And those who log their fitness on a fitness log are more likely to keep up with it.

Everybody has different things that are easy and are hard for them, and different things we are working on.

The B4 Team List shows up every Monday and gives people the opportunity to commit to doing at least one thing this week to improve your health. One thing each week isn't too much to work on, and as the weeks come together they add up and you see progress over time.

I don't have the old list, and maybe that's a good thing because it means you can recommit to the team, and recommit your interest in taking care of yourself.

So, if you are interested in reaffirming your membership, respond to this post and say what thing or things you are going to be working on this week.

Bixby17 - Work on finding more home cooked meals that are healthy for the family but they won't make bad faces about. This nearly impossible task is my mom's karmic revenge for the times I made horrible faces about the things she was making for dinner. Though the Lima Bean Casserole that I got caught dumping in the disposal and got me grounded for a week was completely beyond the tolerance of just about any sane 11 year old.

Bix! Health!

We've been eating less of everything since the weekend. And sleeping more. And stressing less since the football game was enough to make one stroke out at times.

Recommitment? I need to be committed.

My feet hurt. I've been dancing more than usual, and that will continue at least through this month. On the good side, I think I've gained back most of the aerobic conditioning I lost during my puny spell in the summer, and my weight is back into three digits.

But my feet hurt.

Based on your photo, you've been quite capricious!

Still scrubbing. Gonna have a houseful of people this weekend. My meal planning consists of finding recipes you can toss in the crockpot or oven and walk away and do something else.

Last night's was a pot roast recipe from Healthy Living that turned out real nice. I try not to cook with added oils, and we can tell the difference when we go out to eat (like after we went to the Japanese hibachi place this weekend where they kept sqirting oil on everything to make flames, then we went home and three of us made a beeline for the toilet...) I think tonight will be chicken enchiladas that I will assemble and refrigerate and bake later.

I woulda tossed the Lima Bean Casserole myself...

Darn, sc beat me to this line!

Horribly sore so far this week. Spent all of Sunday tearing out our post-and-rail front fence. With all the bending, lifting and yanking (and sounding like an Olympic weightlifter while pulling out posts), my legs, shoulders and forearms are in rough shape. Never had the forearms hurt from overexertion before. Not fun.

Still gotta cut down on the snacks, healthy or no. Weight has leveled off, and may have gone back up a pound or two. Need to lose another five pounds so that I can fit properly into the four new pairs of pants I just bought. They are just the slightest bit snug, deliberately so.

Oh, adding on, I'm working on standing up straighter, keeping my residual gut in, and generally presenting a genial and vivacious air. All in practice for next week's audition.

I've been awful at this, but you know, fifteen dozenth time may be the charm.

I eat out almost every night because my roommates are horrible people and steal all my food and hog the kitchen. Long term goal is I need to move, but short term, I'm going to make better choices about what I eat and not let eating on the fly be an excuse to eat badly. I had a salad for dinner last night. Tonight I am going to grab some sushi. Tomorrow the idiot crew is working night shift and I will stop by the farmer's market and get some fresh vegetables and do something to cook them when I arrive home.
