B4 Team-The List (and recommitment)
Posted: Mon Oct 08, 2007 9:11 pm
Week 237 (I think, as I don't have a notebook).
B4 Team stands for: Better Bodies for Bored Buddies (term coined by Barbarella).
The focus of the team isn't the outside appearance, though that would be handy, but rather doing long term lifestyle changes that can make your bodies more healthy long term. For yourself and for the people who love and care about you. And to support each other and give each other guidance with people's particular things that hurt their health.
There's studies that say that people who work together on their health and fitness goals are more likely to stick with it long term. And those who log their fitness on a fitness log are more likely to keep up with it.
Everybody has different things that are easy and are hard for them, and different things we are working on.
The B4 Team List shows up every Monday and gives people the opportunity to commit to doing at least one thing this week to improve your health. One thing each week isn't too much to work on, and as the weeks come together they add up and you see progress over time.
I don't have the old list, and maybe that's a good thing because it means you can recommit to the team, and recommit your interest in taking care of yourself.
So, if you are interested in reaffirming your membership, respond to this post and say what thing or things you are going to be working on this week.
Bixby17 - Work on finding more home cooked meals that are healthy for the family but they won't make bad faces about. This nearly impossible task is my mom's karmic revenge for the times I made horrible faces about the things she was making for dinner. Though the Lima Bean Casserole that I got caught dumping in the disposal and got me grounded for a week was completely beyond the tolerance of just about any sane 11 year old.
