Today's "You're in the Hot Seat" winning answer is "Tim McGraw."

Drew says that he’s been having nightmares about his appearance on “Millionaire.” He would be in the Hot Seat and he gets a high-level question right. The walls would then fly away and it becomes this total “Slum Dog Millionaire” dance number. Everyone starts dancing. Meredith dances, the audience dances.

Meredith asks Drew if he gets the $1M question right if he would do a dance on the floor with her.

Drew says that he would do it as a favor to her.

The next question topic is Tolkien.

Love the lapel pin. Hope its significance is discussed on tomorrow's show.

Oh, and Drew, was that the shout-out you mentioned - talking about "friends who had been on the show" telling you to prepare for the music?

Cute, Drew, very cute. I laughed when, right after your comment about being familiar with "The Hobbit" the question was the first line of that very book. But please tell me you're familiar with more than just that one book.

Good start, Drew! I wish they'd put a Tolkien question in the upper tier, instead of wasting the category for $7.5K.
earendel wrote:Oh, and Drew, was that the shout-out you mentioned - talking about "friends who had been on the show" telling you to prepare for the music?
This was going to be my question, too. If you're referring to advice you picked up from the Bored, the most important thing you learned was to prepare for the music? By blasting it into your ears while you sleep!?

If you earned that Play It! pin, you should already be familiar with listening to the music from the Hot Seat, anyway. I join KT in hoping that the pin gets discussed on today's show.

I'm a big fan of Mr. Hodgman, and had high hopes that he'd be a useful expert.
I can only hope he redeems himself as the week goes on. (all it will take is a $100k question about hobo names...)

At least John isn't playing up his know-it-all shtick from The Daily Show.

Now, to play up his PC persona, could Skype display a blue screen of death when John doesn't know the answer? :P

Great job so far Drew! So, on the Tolkien question, the whole "I’m not sure of this one… Oh, wait, I am. " was that a real moment of uncertainity or was that just to fake-out Meredith? I got the sense that it was the latter and kudos to you if it was. Is this the first time that a contestant pulled a fake-out - usually it is Meredith doing that trick?

You seemed to be having the time of you life up there. Congrats and I can't wait for a trip report!

---Jay

What a fine omen for your final question to be the beginning of something which turned out so well as Tolkien's middle earth novels. Retroactively, may your quest be as complex, interesting and successful.
