Once again, a little Greek or Latin would pay off. Baros (as in barometer) is Greek for "weight" or "pressure."

John, I'm sorry I couldn't watch your show. You were a fabulous contestant!

BTW, I didn't know you were from Greer! That's where my father lives (and, I guess, I as well, Thanksgivings and summers)!

Sure they can. But throwing it in their face and almost mocking them certainly doesn't help the cause. (Not to mention ruins it for those of us who were eager to participate and help in that role too, but much more low-key.)

They asked me during the set-up call how often I'd been a PAF in the past. I told them. If they didn't like the way I answered the phone (which was just intended to have a little fun), they could have edited it out.

"Mercenary," by the way, implies that I was in it for the money. I don't want to have this discussion in John's thread, so suffice it to say that the implication is false. --Bob

A. Trilogy of plays (11)
I know it's not a James Taylor album but there's nothing else to go on so I'll call on the PAF.

A. Rain Forest
B. Glacier
C. Deep sea
D. Desert

John doesn’t know and decides to leave with $50K
Spoiler
C Deep sea ( 8 )
"Baro" brings to mind "pressure" (as in barometer) and the only place likely to have high pressure is the deep sea. I'd have gone with C as my answer. (Of course similar reasoning when I was in the HS cost me, but I'd still take the risk again.)

It's a shame that John didn't make it to the ToT board.

Double Dip on the Coast of Utopia Q (could eliminate B & D).

At $250K with 3 LLs left.

No one's going to give me a sympathy grumble (TM) re: the announcement about the Sprint contest?

BTW, if anyone has this on tape or can post a clip on YouTube, I'd like to see the PAF exchange.

Oh, sorry, Jeemie. I'm kinda busy today.

<grumble>®

I think, by law, there always has to be a "free" way of entering these contests, by mailing in a postcard or something. All TPTB have to do is to post the details to their web page like they said they would.

There seems to be a serious uptick in questions related to the Tony Awards.

If you watch the Tonys, then you would be familiar with the Utopia plays.

John’s first choice is correct.

What the French?!?!?!?!?!?!!??

A more fun question might have been: What was the original name of the first Pope? Then give all of the choices in Aramaic.

What the French?!?!?!?!
Innocent, naive and whimsical. And somewhat footloose and fancy-free.

21% C. Hays Code

Tom: I’m pretty sure about this one John. I think it’s “D. Volstead Act.”

John: Why are you pretty sure about it?

Tom: John, I know it’s not Hawley-Smoot Tariff, it had nothing to do with tariffs. The Hays Code, I never heard of. The Comstock Law. I don’t know exactly what it is, but I don’t think it has anything to do with prohibition. I think it is the Volstead Act.

D. Vostead Act (9)
Was it on this question that Tom added the comment, "I wish my wife answering this because she's the trivia expert"? That was a true What The French? moment for me. Aside from becoming a celebrity attention ho, why did you take this job, Tom, if you're no good a trivia? And, as already been mentioned, this question should have been in a congressman's wheelhouse, if any of them are!
