With the renewed interest resulting from Slumdog Millionaire, I think that there will be some sort of phone-in, but it could be fairly basic (a three-question quiz and everyone is in the pool). I'm wondering if they will keep the clock or not.

I thought that the abandonment of TOPG was much more about "diversity" in contestants than about that unfortunate lawsuit. Nevertheless, the more I think about it, the more I conclude that either a phone game or some type of online qualification method will be used. Due to the rather brief, 11-episode run of this revival, nationwide auditions (or even auditions in a few "major cities") would seem to be overly expensive -- a lot of trouble to go to for the recruitment of a relative handful of contestants. And I doubt TPTB would do NY-only auditions, because having night after night of WE/WE contestants for 2 weeks would probably not be conducive to the type of ratings ABC will be seeking for prime-time.

They can always piggyback on the SyndiBAM auditions, which should start in a month or so. That'll give 'em a couple of months of potential contestants to choose from.

There's a Dream Team -- doesn't that mean there'll be a bunch of BBs in the seats, or similarly knowledgeable folkses like us?

I hope not. Kati Knudsen aside, the drama of people trying to reason out answers was, IMHO, one of the best aspects of PTBAM. TDC ruins that and also has resulted in some tragic examples of hotseatitis on some low-level questions. I think TPTB are going to want some big-money winners to promote during this run, and the clock may be at odds with that objective.

I agree. I hate the clock on SyndiBAM. The show is unwatchable for me because of it.

They did it with auditions in less time back in late 2000......

Although I hate the clock, I'd have been better off if it had been in effect. Since I couldn't picture the right answer to the rows of stars in 45 seconds, I'd have definitely used the PAF (and/or ask the expert if it was there) to stall for some time.

Well, THIS is the biggest news to hit the Bored in a long time.

I bet they will bring the Phone Game back. If they were going to hand-pick the contestants through an audition process, they'd have to start within the next couple months-August will be here before we know it!

We're ready for Fred-is he ready for us??

PTBAM ROCKS!!

But against that, I bet there are at least a score of incident where the contestant rushed and got the answer wrong, used a lifeline unnecessarily, or walked away unnecessarily.

I really hope the clock's out by August for PT and out for next season Syndi too.

Said it before, happy to say it again:

Regis is a career host for a reason, a good reason. He knows how to make people comfortable, & to get the audience laughing with them, not at them.

His little amazed jabs at the absurd are just that, little, sheathed jabs, not merciless cut jobs.
And he's best when he gets to decide what's absurd, not some cynical 22-year-old producer.

Meredith displays a fairly cruel manner with her fake-outs. Regis's fake-outs, I think, fooled no-one. In this game, people can be their own worst enemy; they really don't need "help" in this from the host.

Boy, if the meano host from Slumdog makes an appearance, as everyone is betting he will, I would not want to be that contestant. Just have to tune him out. As Our Hero in the movie pretty well did.

This is my ideas on what I think the money tree should look like for the new prime time version of Millionaire.

$2,000,000
$1,000,000
$500,000
$250,000
$100,000
$50,000 (Safe Haven)
$30,000
$20,000
$10,000
$5,000
$2,500 (Safe Haven)
$2,000
$1,500
$1,000
$500

Or they could use this money tree

$1,000,000
$500,000
$300,000
$200,000
$100,000
$50,000 (Safe Haven/ Earn Switch The Question)
$25,000
$10,000
$5,000
$2,000
$1,000 (Safe Haven/Earn Double Dip)
$500
$300
$200
$100

forgive my ignorance, but...

who's "Fred," and what's "TOPG?"

In addition, Whoo frickin Hoo!!!

And good luck to any and all auditioners. We'd better see some bb's on the show this summer -- how exciting!

I can't imagine they'd use TDC. I'd bet against it, especially with Regis hosting - it just wouldn't be any fun for him or the viewers.

Hit those numbers on my phone now,
Put states east to west.
Get them right and keep on going,
I know I'm the best.

Question two's a bore.
Question three makes me feel queasy
But here comes question four.
Question five, there are no more.
Get it right, I'm waiting for

And Fred had two distinct personalities.

Happy Fred said you had gotten all the questions correct and could proceed to selecting the tape date you wanted to try for, etc.

Sad Fred gave you the bad news that one of your answers was incorrect.

We preferred talking to Happy Fred. :)

And another reminder, as if we needed it.
---------------------------------
I Hate Fred (Apologies to Cole Porter and the cast of "Kiss Me, Kate")

I hate Fred.
And his sister Marble Mouth, I want them dead!
First you tell the age of talk show hosts from Rosie up to Maury,
And then you order size of rocks you get out of a quarry.
You think you've got it right, but then you hear Fred say "I'm sorry".
Oh, I hate Fred!

I want to be a millionaire, no secret there for certain.
So call I do and reach Q3, with victory I'm flirtin'.
But Sorry Fred shows up again and rings down the final curtain.
Oh I hate Fred!

I hate Fred.
Some days I think I shoulda stood in bed.
On Hemingway and Steinbeck books I am typically clueless.
But sometimes just plain numbering, I need to sit there shoeless.
After hitting a fat finger, I do wish my fingers grew less.
Oh I hate Fred.

I'll get to NYC some day, just like those other scholars
I'll give those final answers to the crowd's big whoops and hollers.
And I won't stop till Regis says "You've won a million dollars!"
But I'll still hate Fred!
I just ordered chicken and an egg from Amazon. I'll let you know.

In case the prime time version decides they want to use the clock this is how I think the clock should work.

15-second clock:
$500
$1,000
$1,500
$2,000
$2,500 (Safe Haven)

30-second clock:
$5,000
$10,000
$20,000
$30,000
$50,000 (Safe Haven)

60-second clock:
$100,000
$250,000
$500,000

90-second clock:
$1,000,000

90-second clock plus remaining “banked time”
$2,000,000

Okay, let's see if it will all fit in one post. (Looks like it will, although the prize table format doesn't work right.)
WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE

SUPER MILLIONAIRE EDITION

Official Rules

1. Contest Description: "Super Millionaire" is a contest in which players compete to become a Contestant on the Super Millionaire Edition of the Television Quiz Show entitled "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire." The Super Millionaire Edition consists of seven (7) on-air programs, of sixty (60) minutes in length, scheduled to be broadcast on the ABC Network beginning on May 16, 2004 (the "Program(s)"). Program length and schedule are subject to change without prior notice. Super Millionaire is comprised of two (2) rounds: "Round I" - "The Qualifying Round" and "Round II" - "The Program." Players may enter by calling a toll-free phone number and correctly answering five (5) multi-part general knowledge questions designed to be of increasing difficulty ("Phone Game"). Each question has four (4) answers that must be placed in the correct order. Players with a physical disability that prevents them from using a telephone to play the Phone Game (see Rule 3.A.1.b below), may enter Super Millionaire via an alternative computer entry process at abc.com, keyword "Millionaire" ("Computer Game"). The Computer Game will be conducted in the same manner as the Phone Game. All Phone Game and Computer Game players who answer all five (5) questions correctly in the specified time and select the same Program tape date ("Tape Date") will be put into a pool of potential contestants for the selected Tape Date ("Tape Date Player Pool"). Players may qualify only one (1) time for only one (1) Tape Date Player Pool. Once a player has been entered into a Tape Date Player Pool no additional entries will be accepted from that player. For each Tape Date, players will be randomly selected from the applicable Tape Date Player Pool to receive an Eligibility Call (see Rule 3.B below). If the player meets all of the eligibility requirements (see Rule 2 below) he/she will be brought to New York City with a guest, to appear as a finalist ("Finalists") on the Program. During each episode of the Program, Finalists compete in a Fastest Finger Competition (see Rule 4.A below) to determine who will become a contestant ("Contestant") on the Program's main game, in which they can win up to Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000) by correctly answering up to fifteen (15) multiple-choice questions of increasing difficulty ("Main Game").

2. Eligibility:

1. Super Millionaire is open to U.S. residents of the fifty (50) United States and the District of Columbia who are eighteen (18) years of age or older.

2. Employees and their immediate family members (spouse, mother, father, daughter, son, sister, brother and their spouses) or those living in the same household, of The Walt Disney Company, Valleycrest Productions, Ltd., ABC, Diplomatic, West Corporation, all "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" production personnel, television stations broadcasting Super Millionaire, advertising agencies advertising for Super Millionaire or any person or entity connected with the production, administration or judging of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire", or any of their respective parent companies, affiliates, subsidiaries, agents or representatives are not eligible. In addition, any persons closely acquainted with any persons connected with the production, administration or judging of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" are not eligible, if in the sole discretion of Valleycrest Productions, Ltd. (the "Game Sponsor"), the person's participation could create the appearance of impropriety.

3. Any person who will be or intends to be a legally qualified candidate for any type of political office at the time the Program will be broadcast is not eligible.

4. Any player who has appeared on any television game show that (i) had its original broadcast during primetime within one (1) year prior to the date of the Eligibility Call or (ii) is intended to have its original broadcast during primetime within one (1) year after the date of the Eligibility Call is not eligible.

5. Any person who has been a contestant on any edition of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," (syndicated or network) is not eligible. Anyone who has appeared as a Finalist in the Fastest Finger Competition but did not advance to become a contestant may enter. Individuals may qualify as Super Millionaire Finalist no more than two (2) times per calendar year.

6. Finalists must be available to travel to New York City for their Tape Date and must be available to be in New York City for up to five (5) days (including two (2) travel days).

7. Finalists must have the ability to participate in all essential elements of Super Millionaire. All Finalists must be able to: 1) compete in the Fastest Finger Competition, 2) answer up to fifteen (15) multiple choice questions and 3) use all of the lifelines in the time and manner prescribed herein.

3. Round I - The Qualifying Round:

1. The Qualification Game

Players can enter Super Millionaire by calling the toll free Contest number 1-800- 999- 7878 and playing the Phone Game. Players with a physical disability that prevents them from using the telephone to play the Phone Game may enter Super Millionaire by going to abc.com, keyword "Millionaire" and playing the Computer Game. The Phone Game and Computer Game will be available each Contest Day (defined below) from 7 PM ET to 3 AM ET beginning at 7 PM ET on May 10, 2004 and ending at 3 AM ET on May 19, 2004.

Players are limited to one (1) entry attempt (Phone Game or Computer Game) per person, per Contest Day. For purposes of Super Millionaire, a Contest Day is defined as the eight (8)-hour period from 7 PM ET to 3 AM ET the following day ("Contest Day"). Players who attempt to enter Super Millionaire more than one (1) time per Contest Day will receive a message that they have exceeded the daily entry limit and the subsequent entry attempts will be terminated.

All players must be eighteen (18) years of age or older. Players must enter their birth date and anyone that is under eighteen (18) years of age will be notified that they do not meet the age requirement and will be disqualified. All players will be asked to enter the LAST FOUR (4) digits of their social security number. This information is subject to verification and players found to have entered incorrect or false information will be disqualified.

Players may only qualify one (1) time for only one (1) Tape Date Player Pool. Players who have already qualified for a Tape Date Player Pool will be notified that they have exceeded the entry limit and any subsequent entry attempts will be terminated. All remaining players will begin to play the Phone Game or Computer Game.

1. How to Enter:

1. The Phone Game : To enter Super Millionaire players must call 1-800-999-7878 toll-free from a touch-tone phone with touch-tone service. Players will receive a busy signal if the number of calls to the telephone Contest lines exceed maximum capacity or if calls are placed outside of a Contest Day (i.e., 7 PM ET to 3 AM ET). Players using cordless or cellular telephones may experience technical difficulties.

2. The Computer Game : Qualified computer players can enter Super Millionaire by going to abc.com, keyword "Millionaire" and playing the Computer Game. The Computer Game has been established solely for players who have a physical disability that prevents them from using a telephone to participate in the Phone Game. The Computer Game is expressly reserved for people with such physical disabilities and may not be used by anyone who has the ability to play the Phone Game. Game Sponsor reserves the right to require medical documentation of the disability that prevents a player from playing the Phone Game. Any person who attempts to defraud or in any way tamper with Super Millionaire by qualifying through the Computer Game, without meeting the requirements for participation in the Computer Game, will be disqualified and Game Sponsor will seek all legal recourse against such individual.

2. How to Play:

Players may only play the Phone Game or Computer Game one time per day. Players will be asked five (5) multi-part general knowledge questions designed to be of increasing difficulty. Each question has four (4) answers that must be placed in the correct order based on instructions given in the question. (Example: Put the following U.S. states in geographical order, starting with the easternmost: 1. Ohio, 2. Illinois, 3. Utah, 4. Florida.) Phone Game players will hear the question followed by the four (4) answers. Computer Game players will see the question on their computer screen followed by each answer individually. Each answer is preceded by a number from 1 through 4 corresponding to the numbers on the telephone keypad/computer keyboard. After all four (4) answers have been given, players will receive a signal at which point they can begin entering the answers in the correct order using the corresponding numbers on their telephone keypad/computer keyboard. Players cannot begin entering their answers until the signal is given. Players can enter each answer only once; no changes are permitted. Players will have ten (10) seconds to complete each question (e.g., to place all four (4) answers in the correct order). At the end of the ten (10) seconds a "time up" indication will be given. If all four (4) answers have not been placed in the correct order within the time specified, the entire question will be deemed incorrect. Players who answer a question incorrectly or do not answer within the time specified will be disqualified and the entry attempt will be terminated. Disqualified players will be prohibited from attempting to qualify again for the rest of the Contest Day. If the player answers the question correctly within the time limit, he/she will move on to the next question. This procedure will be repeated until all five (5) questions are completed. Those players who have correctly answered all five (5) questions within the time specified will be asked to select a Tape Date for which they want to compete to be on the Program. All Phone Game and Computer Game players who select the same Tape Date will be put into a Tape Date Player Pool for the selected Tape Date. Players may qualify only one (1) time for only one (1) Tape Date Player Pool. Once a player has selected a Tape Date and has been entered in a Tape Date Player Pool no additional entries will be accepted from that player.

Tape Dates shall be available for selection according to following the schedule:

For each Tape Date, players will be randomly selected from the applicable Tape Date Player Pool to receive an Eligibility Call. During the Phone Game/Computer Game, players will be given the date and time that the Eligibility Call will take place and will be asked to enter a telephone number where they can be reached if they are randomly selected. Eligibility Calls will be made according to the following schedule:

Tape Date Eligibility Call
May 15 May 13, 9-12 noon ET
May 16 May 14, 9-12 noon ET
May 17 May 15, 9-12 noon ET
May 18 May 16 9-12 noon ET

Computer Game Players who answer all of the Computer Game questions correctly will be asked to select a tape date. After selecting a tape date players will be asked to provide information regarding eligibility requirements. If a player does not meet the eligibility requirements he/she will be disqualified from the competition. Computer Game Players who meet all eligibility requirements will be entered into the applicable Tape Date Player Pool. If randomly selected, such players will still receive an Eligibility Call and he/she must be available for the call in order to be qualified as a Finalist. Players will be asked to indicate if TTY/TTD service will be necessary for the Eligibility Call.

It is estimated that approximately two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) players will compete in each Round I Phone Game Contest Day and that twenty-four thousand (24,000) players will compete in each Round I Computer Game Contest Day. It is estimated that approximately four percent (4%) of all players will answer all questions in Round I correctly. The Game Sponsor reserves the right to limit the total number of Phone Game calls to a number that is not less than two hundred fifty thousand (250,000) per Contest Day. Call limiting may be done by setting a cap on the number of callers from each time zone based on the percentage of the U.S. population living in each time zone, by limiting the number of phone lines available at any one time or by any other means selected by the Game Sponsor designed to allow for comparable access to Super Millionaire for all players no matter what their geographical location. The Game Sponsor reserves the right to limit the total number of Computer Game entry attempts to a number that is not less than twenty-four thousand (24,000) per Contest Day.

2. The Eligibility Call

All Phone Game players and Computer Game players who select the same Tape Date will be placed into a one (1) Tape Date Player Pool for the selected Tape Date. For each Tape Date, players will be randomly selected from the applicable Tape Date Player Pool. The randomly selected players will be contacted by Super Millionaire representatives for the purpose of qualifying him/her as a Finalist for the Program. Only the randomly selected players will receive Eligibility Calls. All other players remaining in the Tape Date Player Pool will be eliminated from the competition and will be blocked from qualifying for another Tape Date Player Pool.

The players will be contacted in the order in which their names were randomly selected. Program representatives will attempt to contact and qualify the first randomly selected player then contact other players in the order in which they were randomly selected until ten (10) Finalists have been qualified for the Tape Date.

A Super Millionaire representative will contact the player at the telephone number provided by the player for this purpose during the Phone Game or Computer Game. Eligibility Calls will be made between 9:00AM ET and 12:00 Noon ET on the date specified during the Phone Game/Computer Game. One (1) attempt will be made to reach each randomly selected player and all calls will be recorded for quality control assurance purposes. Failure to allow phone calls to be recorded will result in the player forfeiting his/her right to continue in the competition and the next randomly selected player will be contacted. If contact is not made with a player for any reason including, but not limited to, a busy signal, no answer, answering machine/service, out of range cell phone or otherwise, the player will forfeit his/her right to continue in the competition and the next randomly selected player will be contacted. If the telephone number provided is a pager number, the player will forfeit his/her right to continue in the competition and the next randomly selected player will be contacted. During the Eligibility Call, players must verify information that they provided during the Phone Game/Computer Game. If the information provided by the player during the Eligibility Call does not match the information previously provided by the person during the Phone Game/Computer Game, then he/she will be disqualified and the next randomly selected player will be contacted. Every Contestant must meet all of the eligibility requirements stated in Rule 2 above. During the Eligibility Call players will be asked to confirm that they meet each of the eligibility requirements. If a player fails to meet any eligibility requirement he/she will be disqualified and the next randomly selected player will be contacted. If the player meets all eligibility requirements, then he/she will be declared a Finalist for the Program. Finalists must agree to the conditions of the Contestant Travel Release and agree to sign the release upon arrival in New York City. As part of the Travel Release, a Finalist agrees that if he/she does not arrive at the studio at least two (2) hours before the scheduled start of Program taping, no matter what the reason, he/she may be disqualified from the competition at Game Sponsor's sole discretion. The Finalist will also be asked to agree to abide by the complete Super Millionaire official rules; including, but not limited to, the condition that by playing the Phone Game/Computer Game, the Finalist has already agreed to abide by the complete Super Millionaire official rules, including, but not limited to, the condition that all decisions regarding game play and/or questions rest with the judges whose decision are final. If the Finalist refuses to agree to consent to and upon arrival in New York City sign the required releases, the Finalist will be disqualified and the next randomly selected player will be contacted. Players who complete the Eligibility Call and meet all eligibility requirements will be declared Finalists and advance to Round II - The Program. For each Tape Date Super Millionaire representatives will qualify ten (10) Finalists to travel to New York City for the opportunity to appear on the Program.

3. Alternates :

In addition to the ten (10) Finalists that will be qualified from the first Tape Date Player Pool, representatives will also qualify two (2) alternate Finalists (the "Alternates"). The Alternates will be brought to New York City with a guest and the Alternates must be available to participate as Finalists in the event that any Finalist is disqualified or is unavailable to appear on the Program. If the Alternates are not used during the first Program they will remain in New York City and remain alternates for the following Program(s). An Alternate will remain an Alternate until either he/she becomes a Finalist and participates in a Fastest Finger Competition or until the final Program is completed. Alternates are not guaranteed to have the opportunity to appear on the Program. Alternates will participate as Finalists in the order in which they were qualified (i.e. the first Alternate qualified will be the first Alternate to become a Finalist, if necessary). If an Alternate becomes a Finalist a new Alternate may be qualified at the sole discretion of the Game Sponsor to replace him/her. The first two (2) Alternates will be selected from the first Tape Date Player Pool. If an additional Alternate is needed for a subsequent Tape Date, a Super Millionaire representative will qualify an Alternate from the applicable Tape Date Player Pool by contacting the next randomly selected player for that Tape Date Player Pool after the first ten (10) Finalists have been qualified.

4. Round II - The On-Air Program:

1. Fastest Finger Competition

On each episode of the Program, Finalists compete to determine who will become a Contestant on the Program by correctly answering in the fastest time one (1) general knowledge question with four (4) answer choices that must be placed in the correct order ("Fastest Finger Competition"). The Fastest Finger Competition is an essential element of Super Millionaire and each Finalist must be capable of participating. Each Finalist has a computer screen on which the question and four (4) answer choices are displayed and a keypad to enter his/her answer choices. Letters A, B, C and D, as applicable, corresponding to the letters on the keypad precede each answer choice. The Program host ("Host") will read the question, but not the answer choices, out loud and when the answer choices appear on the computer screen, the Finalists will have twenty (20) seconds to place all four (4) answer choices in the correct order by pressing the letter keys on their keypad. In instances where a Finalist has a disability that prevents him/her from reading the question on the computer screen, the Host will read the question and the answer choices out loud before the twenty (20) second time limit begins. The Finalist who places all four (4) answer choices in the correct order in the fastest time will be confirmed as a Contestant and advance to play the Main Game. If none of the Finalists correctly answer the question, the process will be repeated with a new question(s) until a Main Game winner is determined. This process will be repeated with the remaining Finalists and a new question each time a new Contestant is needed. In the event of a tie, the tie will be broken by following the same process with the tied players only answering a new question(s) until the tie is broken. Any challenges to the accuracy of the Fastest Finger Competition must be raised before the winning Finalist begins Main Game play. All Fastest Finger Competition challenges will be resolved in the sole discretion of the Game Sponsor whose decisions are final and binding.

2. Main Game

Contestants will be asked up to fifteen (15) multiple choice questions designed to be of increasing difficulty. Contestants must choose the most correct answer choice of the four (4) possible answer choices provided. Each question has an assigned dollar value that increases in amount from One Thousand Dollars ($1000) to Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000) in accordance with the Prize Table set forth in Rule 6. If a Contestant answers all fifteen (15) questions correctly, he/she wins Ten Million Dollars ($10,000,000). Contestants can stop at any time and collect the winnings already earned, except when using the Double Dip lifeline (defined below). If a Contestant answers a question incorrectly, he/she will be eliminated from the Main Game and will lose a portion of the winnings earned in accordance with the Prize Table set forth in Rule 6. The question and answer choices will be displayed to the Contestant on a monitor and will be read out loud by the Host. After the Host has read the question and the answer choices, the Contestant will be given the chance to continue to play or quit and take the winnings earned to that point. If the Contestant elects to continue, the Contestant may proceed by (i) selecting an answer; (ii) using one (1) or more of the available lifelines described below, or (iii) changing his/her mind and electing to stop game play. Contestants can use multiple lifelines to answer any single question; however, each lifeline can only be used once.

Contestants in the Main Game will have the opportunity to change their answers until either (i) the Host asks if the answer is the Contestant's final answer ("Final Answer") and the Contestant indicates an affirmative response to the Host's question, or (ii) the Contestant says unprompted that the answer given is his/her Final Answer. Once the Contestant has indicated that his/her answer is the Final Answer, the answer is final and cannot be changed.

There are five (5) lifelines that Contestants can use for assistance during Main Game play. The following three (3) lifelines can be used at any time during the Main Game:

* Fifty-Fifty: The Contestant asks the computer to eliminate two (2) of the possible answer choices, leaving the Contestant a choice of two (2) answers [one (1) of which is the correct answer] from which to select. The Contestant then has the choice of selecting an answer, quitting the game or using another lifeline, if available.

* Ask the Audience: The Contestant asks the studio audience which answer they believe is correct. Members of the studio audience indicate their choices by pressing the key on their keypad corresponding to the correct answer. The audience vote is displayed immediately on the Contestant and Host's screen. The Contestant then has the choice of selecting an answer, quitting the game or using another lifeline, if available.

* Phone-A-Friend: Contestants may call one (1) of up to five (5) pre-arranged friends. Phone-a-friends may not use cellular phones. Individuals participating as phone-a-friends may do so only once during Super Millionaire. The Contestant must provide the five (5) friends' names and phone numbers in advance. The friend who was called by the Contestant has thirty (30) seconds to select an answer. The Contestant then has the choice of selecting an answer, quitting the game or using another lifeline, if available. In the event that a Contestant has a disability which affects his or her ability to use this lifeline without assistance, the Contestant will have the option of having the Host read the question and answer choices to the friend and obtain and answer from them.

The following two (2) lifelines may only be used at the Five Hundred Thousand Dollar ($500,000) level or above (Questions 11-15):

* Three Wise Men: The Contestant asks a sequestered panel chosen by the Game Sponsor which answer they believe is correct. The panel has thirty (30) seconds to select an answer but does not need to reach a consensus (i.e. each member of the panel may give a different answer). The Contestant then has the choice of selecting an answer, quitting the game or using another lifeline, if available.

* Double Dip: Double Dip gives the Contestant the opportunity to give two (2) answers to a question. Once a Contestant elects to use the Double Dip lifeline the Contestant must give a Final Answer to the question and may not walk away. The Contestant must indicate and confirm that he/she intends to use this lifeline before giving his/her first answer. If the Contestant's first answer is incorrect, the Contestant can give another answer which will be his/her Final Answer to the question. If the first answer given is correct the lifeline is still considered to have been used.

If a Finalist requires a sign language interpreter, Super Millionaire will provide an interpreter experienced in American Sign Language to be with the Finalist throughout his/her participation on the Program, including rehearsals and Main Game play.

5. Scheduling: On episodes of the Program where a Contestant does not finish game play when the "times up" buzzer sounds at the end of the episode ("Holdover Contestant"), the Holdover Contestant will complete his/her game play on the next scheduled Tape Date before a new Contestant is selected from among the Finalists for that Tape Date. The first Program will begin with the Holdover Contestant from the previous series of Super Millionaire completing Game Play. After the Holdover Contestant has finished playing a Fastest Finger Competition will be held to determine the first Contestant. The Game Sponsor in its sole discretion will determine whether the final Program will end with a Contestant completing game play or with a Holdover Contestant. The Game Sponsor, in its sole discretion shall determine when there is not enough time for another Contestant to participate in the Program.

6. Prize Table: Contestants in the Main Game may win cash prizes corresponding to the number of questions answered correctly in accordance with the following prize table. Prize amounts listed are not cumulative:
