It tells us who is here - but only if you told them when you registered to tell us, right?
I like knowing who is here.
It made me happy to see those names up there.

Yes, that's right, only registered user names are displayed. And each user has the option of checking "Hide your online status" in the Profile's "Preferences" section. Checking that results in displaying only that a hidden member is present.

Where do I see how many hidden memebers are present?

If you go to the "Front Page"
index.php
It will tell how many registered, Hidden, and Guests.
When i just checked, there were 6 Registered, 0 Hidden, and 2 Guests
