TV Week

Andrea Ulrich
Minneapolis, MN

As an avid fan of all things television, Andrea wants to buy the biggest TV there is.

Andrea has a TV room at home. If her boyfriend comes in to talk to her, she turns on closed captioning so that she doesnt' miss anything.

$8,000
In its finale, what show shocked fans by revealing that the entire series was imagined to have taken place inside a snow globe?

A: thirtysomething B: St. Elsewhere
C: China Beach D: Picket Fences

Andrea doesn't know but she has a feeling about one of them.

50/50 leaves B & C.

Now Andrea doesn't know. She was thinking it was Picket Fences.

PAF: Andrea calls her brother-in-law, Dan.

Dan: It's not St. Elsewhere.

Andrea: You think it's China Beach?

Dan: Ummm.

Andrea: How sure?

Dan: Not very.

Andrea: Five seconds!

Dan: I'd go with China Beach, but not very sure.

Andrea: $4,000 sounds good to me. I'm going to walk.

Andrea walks with $4,000.

Answers:
$8,000: B: St. Elsewhere

The more Meredith hypes the contestant's "love of all things TV" the stronger I hear the ominous organ music in the background.

This was one of my favorite shows and the ending was "iconic", on a par with the final episodes of M*A*S*H, Newhart and The Mary Tyler Moore Show.

See what I mean about the organ music? And I can already hear Marley's <grumble>®; at least she used all her lifelines.

And these are the only type of contestants that get cast for theme week shows. It is impossible to be an ordinary person who just happens to be good at this genre of trivia; you have to be over the top. Way, way over...

Heck, I already grumbled when she used that same line on Wednesday's show with $1,000.

<grumble>®
